Snorkel and Historical Adventure Tour
Thru April 30, 2014
Captain Bill, marine environmentalist and sailor will meet you at our dock and take you on a 4 hour journey through the waters of the Florida Bay aboard our 16-foot Cathedral Hull skiff. The first stop will be the famous Cheeca Rocks, just a half mile offshore on the Ocean side. Here you'll snorkel and encounter colorful tropical fish including blue tang, grunts, hog fish, snapper, nurse sharks, four eye butterfly fish, parrotfish & sea turtles. You'll also see vibrant coral including fire, star and large brain as well as the beautiful Queen Conch.
more... After snorkeling, Captain Bill will take you to the Historical State Park, Indian Key. The island has a colorful history dating back to the mid-19th century. After a surprise Indian attack in 1840, the island became uninhabited and is now the scene of an archaeological project.
During lunch and on your journey back to Casa Morada Captain Bill will captivate you, telling colorful stories of the history of the Keys.
